Chapter 5.4.2

Snow White World! Snowy Tokyo Disney (above)

"If you go to Tokyo, you have to go to Disney!"

When friends and family travel to Tokyo, Tokyo Disneyland is always on their pocket list, and I feel like I can't live without a trip to Disneyland. I was once invited by a Taiwanese friend to see the magical charm of Disney, and I was even lucky enough to see Disney Snow. In this article, I've compiled a list of tips for visiting Tokyo DisneySea, so that you can have the best memories in an efficient manner.

Tokyo DisneySea V.S. Tokyo Disneyland

"Tokyo Disney Resort is world-renowned, but it actually has two parks: Tokyo Disneyland, which opened in 983 and is suitable for children and families, and Tokyo DisneySea, which opened in 2001 and is suitable for couples and adults, and is the world's only ocean-themed Disneyland. It is the only ocean-themed Disneyland in the world. The following table illustrates the differences between the two.

Pre-trip Preparation

Recommended Time to Play

When visiting Tokyo DisneySea, there are certain times of the year that are best avoided, taking into account the crowds and weather conditions. Please refer to the following points to choose the most comfortable time to visit.

  • Japan's Large Continuous Holiday: These periods will be very crowded with families and tourists due to the consecutive holidays.RedIt is a national holiday in Japan, so avoid it if you can.
    • Kasukumi(Chinese: Spring Break): Late March - Early April
    • ゴールデンウィーク(Chinese: 金金週): End of April~Early May
    • Natsumi(Chinese: Summer Vacation): Late July ~ End of August
    • シルバーウィーク(Chinese: 白銀週):Mid-September continuous vacation
    • lit. end of the year and beginning of the year(Chinese: 年終歲末): Late December - Early January
    • Touhoumi(Chinese: Winter Vacation): Mid-December - Early January
  • Weekends and HolidaysHolidays and public holidays have more visitors and longer waiting time than weekdays, so it is recommended to avoid them.
  • During specific events::
    • Harlow & Crismas(Chinese: Halloween & Christmas time): A seasonal event unique to the Tokyo Disney Resort (Halloween: September-October/Christmas: November-Mid-December), which is very crowded due to the popularity of decorations and limited-edition merchandise. However, if you want to see a special Disney event, you can visit during this time.
    • Anniversary Event(Chinese: 週紀念活動): Anniversaries (e.g. 20th, 30th, etc.) are marked with special events and merchandise sales, so it may be more crowded than usual.
  • Expected periods of poor weather conditions::
    • Rainy season (June - early July): With more rainy days, outdoor recreational facilities and mobility will be more strenuous, which will easily affect the play experience.
    • Typhoon season (September-October): Strong winds and heavy rain may occur under the influence of typhoons. Please check the weather forecast beforehand and avoid bad weather days during this period.
  • Unpredictable Super-Crowded Day: The peak season for off-campus teaching or study trips (mid-May or October) can be unexpectedly crowded with students even on weekdays.

If you just want to avoid human rights, I suggest the following order:

National Holiday→Student Holiday→Special Event Period→Six Days or Other Mini-Holidays→Weekdays

Of course, if you're there for Halloween, Christmas, or an anniversary, you can try to visit, but you'll really be inundated with people, and there's very little time to take photos or play on the rides.

Ticket Purchase

Although Disney still offers on-site ticket purchasing, basically anyone with experience knows that buying tickets beforehand will give you more time to visit Disney, and the following are ways to purchase tickets other than on-site.

Ticket Types and Prices
  • 1デーパスポート(Chinese: 一日券):Basic ticket for a full day of fun at the park.
  • ウィークナイトパスポート(Chinese: Weekday Evening Tickets): Weekday tickets are available from 5pm onwards, making it easy to use on your way home from work or school for a short relaxation or celebration.
  • Airlie International Pasport(Chinese: Afternoon Ticket): A ticket that allows you to enter the park after 3 p.m. on holidays, suitable for late risers and at a relatively reasonable price.
  • Hotel Package: A program that includes tickets, performance viewing area reservations, and lodging, so you can enjoy the event comfortably even when it's crowded.

From the following table comparing the amount of one-day rolls, you will find that Disney tickets are really getting more and more expensive.
